Junior Legal Assistant – Conveyancing/Corporate
Our client, is a very active mid-size law firm located in the beautiful Okanagan.They have strong client relationships throughout the valley and beyond and are looking to add a solid individual with initiative and strong interpersonal skills to join their team.
Working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with a close-knit team specializing in conveyancing, corporate and commercial transactions, general and ongoing duties will include:
- Organizing and prioritizing material and workflow for review by responsible lawyer, paralegal and/or senior legal assistant
- Preparing required documents for a purchase/sale, land title registry, and other documents as directed
- Preparing basic corporate documents such as Resolutions and Annual Report documents, basic incorporation, and due diligence
- Liaising with clients
- Billing and reporting on files
- File management and document administration
- Assisting responsible lawyer with any administrative duties as required
The successful candidate will possess:
- A legal administrative assistant certificate
- Law office experience
- Knowledge of PC Law, Econvey, ALF and BC Online is beneficial but not required
- A general understanding of the corporate and real estate law
- Strong attention to detail to effectively proofread and edit documents
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Sound judgment in assessing urgency and importance
- A professional demeanor and the ability to protect confidential information
