Health and Safety Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the development and coordination of safety plans and documentation, including the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Participate in development and execution of safety orientation training
• Ensure safety documentation for all projects has been completed and is maintained in the online safety network
• Ensure all worker certifications are current
• Ensure all reporting required from branches is up to date
• Provide periodic updates and metrics on quarterly safety initiatives
• Support regional Health and Safety Committees ensuring acceptance and compliance of corporate safety mandate
• Monitor all legislation, as it relates to health and safety standards and practices, and facilitate changes while updating as required
• Follow up of all incidents and insure they are reported/communicated to the airline customer in a timely manner, in the SA directed format.
• Ensure all incidents are reported to Director of Operations and Regional Managers via phone call and Intelex.
• Ensure all incidents are investigated and corrective actions put in place by local station managers.
• Approve and close off all incident reports
• Oversee Health & Safety Committee
• Assist in the development of new training programs
• Ensure proper delivery of training is being completed by local trainers
• Close all outstanding SMS Reports
Qualifications
• Airline operational experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years business leadership experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of safety in the workplace; including safety requirements and reporting methods as per Provincial and Federal Labour Standards
• Demonstrated experience in various instruction methods
• Proficient in PC based applications; Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

- Travel to various bases on short notice
