Certified Dental Assistant
Summary
Our client is looking for a full-time Certified Dental Assistant that will work closely with the Dentist and perform duties such as (but not limited to): prepare the patient for the treatment, assist the dentist in performing their treatment, prepare materials and equipment for treatment and have them ready for the dentist’s use. May perform other administrative related work to include, but not limited to, making appointments, answer the phone, ordering supplies and dental billing.
Job Duties
- Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures;
- Take and develop dental x-rays;
- Ask about the patient’s medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse;
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment;
- Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment;
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental
- Treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling);
- Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling);
- Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a computer;
- Communicate with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies); and
- Assist with and help to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery.
Requirements
- Registered as a Certified Dental Assistant
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Certified Dental Assistant
